Remember when uTorrent was great? The upstart BitTorrent client was super lightweight and trounced other popular BitTorrent clients. But that was long ago, before BitTorrent, Inc. Screw that. Use a better BitTorrent client instead. We recommend qBittorrent. The developers are taking a middle path—not cramming every possible feature in, but also avoiding the minimal design of applications like Transmission.

The application includes an integrated torrent search engine, BitTorrent extensions like DHT and peer exchange, a web interface for remote control, priority and scheduling features, RSS downloading support, IP filtering, and many more features. Deluge is another open-source, cross-platform BitTorrent client. Overall, Deluge and qBittorrent are fairly similar and have many of the same features. It starts off as a more minimal client, and you have to add the features you want through the plug-ins—like RSS support, for example.

This means you could run Deluge on a remote system—perhaps a headless server—and control it via Deluge on your desktop. But Deluge will function like a normal desktop application by default. The project cleaned things up. We recommend staying away from Transmission entirely until the project cleans up its act.

Transmission uses its own libTransmission backend. Like Deluge, Transmission can run as a daemon on another system. You could then use the Transmission interface on your desktop to manage the Transmission servicerunning on another computer. It dispenses with a lot of the knobs and toggles in the typical BitTorrent client interface for something more basic. Some people prefer sticking with an older, pre-junk version of uTorrent.

This software is over five years old and may contain security exploits that will never be fixed. It will also never be updated to contain new BitTorrent features that could speed up your downloads. So why waste your time when you could use the similar and much more up to date qBittorrent?

It may have made sense to stick with uTorrent 2. The Best Tech Newsletter Anywhere.By hernanditoMay 7, in Lounge. Let the games begin. I have switched back and forth between SB and Sonar various times.

I have tried Radarr as well. I don't hear too well, and the subtitles help. I liked Sonarr however I started having weird problems with it when I wanted to setup automation in terms of copying new downloads to another server, Medusa does this for me nicely and so I am happy with that.

Although I tried updating Medusa a few weeks back and it borked so I am stuck on release 29 for now. Radarr is fantastic and hopefully Sonarr has fixed the issues by now. Put in a request if not. Radarr is growing steadily unlike CP. I use SickGear, which is another fork of SB.

It was the only one that downloaded episodes the way I wanted to.

I like to download every quality copy of a show that comes out, from p HDTV on up through p bluray. That way I'm assured I have the best quality copy that's out there. Apparently this is a known issue with no plans for it to be fixed. I've thought about trying out Sonarr but SickGear works so well for me that I've never bothered to. Radarr just works. Was on Sickbeard from day one. Then SickRage, now Medusa which is the natural progression. But a little while ago installed Sonarr and have it running also.

Each has their pros and cons. Hopefully both will improve on the cons, at that point there might be little difference. From what I can tell most of the features that are on one and missing from the other are already added to the list of features that will be added in the future to their respective projects.

Medusa allows you to set allowed and preferred. It will try to always get the preferred and won't stop trying till it does. But with the way Medusa works you can't work your way up the quality ladder. Medusa will download HDTV p first if its the first it sees available. It will however download and overwrite the file if it finds bluray p. Sonarr allows you to set the size limits minimums and maximums of each quality.

For example. Which is really helpful. For example you can prefer 5. If Medusa finds a release with 5. Since its preferred then if it can't find a file with 5.GitHub is home to over 40 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together.

When adding a movie to Radarr, allow the user to select an alternative title instead of using the main US title. Also, allow the user to edit an already added movie to select an alternative title. What exactly would you like this feature to accomplish? We already store the alternative titles and use them when checking whether a found movie matches the one you want.

The only thing where we could improve, is also searching with the alternative title if your indexer does not support searching by imdbid. For that we already have a feature request open. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Installation

I meant, instead of using the original title when adding to Radarr, give the option of using the original title or using an alternative, and using that to name the title in the file system. I would like to second this request, but I don't even think it's about a regional difference, just a user preference.

The end result is these files, when downloaded through Radarr, find their way to my media folder and into Plex, where I then have to setup the alternate names in Plex as well because it's much easier to find a Star Wars movie in plex by going to the S section and finding all Star Wars: Episode - [rest of title] names than it is to look for The Empire Strikes Back which is nowhere near the majority of the other episodes.

Also Star Wars: The Force Awakens with it's default title gives no indication as to it's chronology in the series.

Star Wars is just one example, surely more can be discussed if needed, but hopefully this makes the point that many of us would just prefer to organize things on the file system and elsewhere using the alternate names for certain movies. That makes way more sense, since then the titles are also consistent for users of TMDB services other than Radarr. Would it be possible to re-open this issue? It seems as though the moderators at TMDB have decided to keep the short names for many movies and expect people to search alternatives via "alternative titles".

Also probably not gonna happen anytime soon, since we only get the alternative titles after we already added the movie. So when you add a new movie that alternative titles are also searched for? Or may be, as Couchpotato, the possibility to choose the title from our country. So, if I can choose "Deepwater" instead "Deepwater Horizon" for this example, Jackett will grab the release. ATM, it's not working. If you are searching by title instead of imdbid you will never get a release in another language. I propose a way to toggle the movie name to an alternative language title after it is added to Radarr, via the movie edit modal or something.

Yes, you can search by alternative title, I tested it out in radarr and it works. For example search "la vida" will yield "the secret life of pets".

Setup and Configure Sonarr Radarr Lidarr and Jackett with Torrents or Usenet

I think we would add a option on the add movie page for the user to select the title they want, but also make it configurable in the edit movie modal. I would like to see this as well, is it implemented? For example when I add the movie "Arbor Demon" which is the title I used to search it has an alternative title of Enclosure. By default Radarr chose the alternative title of Enclosure and when it searches it returns a list of completely irrelevant movies, even though I know there are releases on RARBG for example out for this film.

When a show has alternate names, Sonarr allready search for all the alternate names today. Couldn't Radarr do the same thing i. Any chance we can get the priority of this bumped up? I'd think it would be easy to implement, and it's probably affecting a lot of people those who often search for foreign language films. I currently run version 0. My suggestion is to let the user choose which language should be the primary when searching for the title, and then on top of that search for 5 alternate titles.

I watch a lot of non-american movies, and I always want the movie cataloged in its original language, not in english. Letting the user choose which language is primary or just respect the Original title attribute of TMDB would both make movies easier to search for and improve the cataloging process. I would suggest to add one checkbox at "restrictions" "must contain" "german" "Do you want to add this to the title"?

Its that easy. At the moment its pretty much unusable and torrent e. Please add this also for sonarr. I wish this was true. Unfortunately it's not.
